What is Car Wrapping?

Vinyl wrapping changes your car's colour without touching the paint. Cast vinyl film — thin, conformable and pressure-sensitive — is applied panel by panel over immaculately cleaned paint, stretched and heat-formed into recesses, then wrapped around edges so no cut line shows. The finish options go far beyond what paint offers: satin, matte, brushed metal, carbon fibre texture, colour-shift and chrome are all routine, and a partial wrap on the roof, bonnet or mirrors is a common lighter-touch alternative. Because the vinyl sits over the original paint, it also protects it from UV and light abrasion, and the factory finish underneath is typically preserved in better condition than the exposed panels around it. Quality cast vinyl lasts five to seven years and removes cleanly with heat. The two things that decide the result are surface preparation and installer skill — wrapping is unforgiving of dirt, and a bad install shows as lifted edges within months.
